Organic · BIO certified

Organic private label olive oil.

Certified organic extra virgin olive oil, made in Spain under your brand. Full traceability, the EU organic leaf, and a story that today’s premium and wellness buyers actively look for.

What “organic” really means here

Organic olive oil is grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers and certified end to end under EU organic regulation — in Andalusia, typically audited by bodies such as CAAE. It carries the EU organic leaf and a certification number your customers can verify. Spain had 284,334 hectares of organic olive groves in 2024, almost half of them in Andalusia, so supply and choice are genuinely deep.

Why it’s worth it

  • Premium shelf positioning — organic commands higher perceived value and price.
  • Wellness & export demand — a decisive purchase driver in Northern Europe, the US and Asia.
  • Traceability built in — certification, lot tracking and documentation for retail buyers.
  • Combine it — organic pairs with any variety (Hojiblanca, Picual, Arbequina) and with PDO seals.

Organic runs carry stricter documentation and a modest cost premium, and certified volumes are more limited than conventional — so we plan them early. We’ll match you with a certified mill, confirm the paperwork for your destination market, and handle labeling compliance for the organic claim.

Planning an organic private label

Going organic changes three things in a private label project: who has to be certified, what goes on the label, and how you plan volumes. The basics of the certification are in our organic olive oil guide.

  • A certified chain — the grove, the mill and the bottler must each be certified, and the oil cannot pass through an uncertified site. Whether you, as brand owner, also enter the control system depends on your activity and your country: confirm it with the certifier before the label is designed.
  • The label — the EU organic leaf, the control body code (ES-ECO-…) and the origin of the raw material (“Spain Agriculture” or “EU Agriculture”), on top of the mandatory extra virgin mentions. Organic can be combined with a PDO seal.
  • Export outside the EU — the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Japan and Switzerland recognise EU organic production under equivalence arrangements, but each market keeps its own labelling and documentation rules. Check the destination before printing.
  • Volumes and timing — certified volume of a given variety and area is limited. Reserve it early in the campaign, once the harvest estimate is known.
  • Price — organic oil carries a premium over conventional at origin, which varies with the campaign, plus certification costs along the chain. Conventional origin prices are in our monthly price tracker.

Questions about organic olive oil

Does organic olive oil taste different?

Not because it is organic. Taste comes from the variety, the ripeness of the olives and the milling. Organic guarantees how the olives were grown, not a flavour.

Which varieties are available as organic?

Mainly Picual, Hojiblanca and Arbequina, as single varieties or blends. Availability depends on the harvest and on the certified volumes of each area.

Can an organic olive oil also carry a PDO seal?

Yes. The two certifications are independent and can appear together on the label when the oil meets both.

Can organic private label olive oil be exported to the US or the UK?

Yes. Both recognise EU organic production under equivalence arrangements, with their own labelling and documentation requirements, which need to be checked before the label is printed.
